a fine pedestal can hide decay
but only you will fail to see the fade in the paint
you’ll hold your grips tight wonder why
why you've not moved a step since then
you won't ever step foot again
you must sever it's just weight
we are the ones who put in hand your golden key
and now that you're our leader
bow and wear the leash
bow and wear it
well I refuse to be cast in gold all to be sold a shrine to my defeat
cause I'll never leave the ground with gold weighing down my wings
let slip the dogs of war
let slip the dogs of war
we'll hover above
they can't eat what they can't reach
they can't eat what they can't reach
hover above
hover above
I don't need a thing from you
not a thing in me needs change
all the weapons for my battle rest inside of my name
so I refuse your gold and pedestals I found my own way
I will stay above your world without your weight on my wings
let slip the dogs of war
they can't eat what they can't reach
let slip the dogs of war
they can't eat what they can't reach

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
Supplementing sasscore insanity with bolstered vocals and pop-punk songcraft, the California band are kicking ass and breaking boundaries. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 21, 2024
